Continuity Is Not an Option PDF Print E-mail

Continuity is not an option, and it’s not just backup, either. But for SMBs, implementing true business continuity is elusive. Sure, it can be done; the technology exists and is used by large enterprises every day. But these large enterprise solutions require a large enterprise wallet and sophisticated IT staff – two things that are generally in short supply at the typical SMB.

Enter QuorumLabs: Today they’re announcing onQ, their “One-Click Recovery” solution aimed squarely at the SMB market. This is an all-in-one-box instant recovery appliance that provides continual backup and DR testing in minutes. It can be onsite or remote, and can run on virtualized or non-virtualized systems. As president and CEO Robert Habibi told GCG, “You need one web interface, two boxes, a network, and a power plug.” We like their setup instructions: “1. Install the appliance. 2. Set servers to protect. 3. Let it run.” Sounds easier than microwaving a Hot Pocket.

Even if it’s just a bit more complicated than heating up junk food, it absolutely fills a big need. Midmarket is where the money is, and everybody pays lip service to it, but too often midmarket products are nothing more than dumbed-down enterprise solutions or scaled-up consumer gear. SMBs need rock-solid, mission-critical solutions that they can deploy and maintain without spending a fortune or employing a flock of IT professionals. It sounds to us like that’s what QuorumLabs is offering; check them out here.
