Science (a really important scientific journal, maybe the only one you need - which is why they can get away with calling themselves "Science") is set to publish papers by IBM researchers this week on the possibility of atomic-level computing. It seems that atoms possess a magnetic property called anisotropy, which means that their orientation can be controlled. If the orientation of atoms could be controlled to represent 1s and 0s, the result could be teeny, tiny computers. See the full explanation here...

. This could hasten the advent of the product we've waited for all our lives: Robot Monkey Butlers. You might wonder why we want Robot Monkey Butlers, rather than just Robot Butlers....we can't help it, monkeys just crack us up. Given the choice, we'd spend extra money to get a monkey version of any robot....maybe it was spending all weekend watching a Planet of the Apes marathon when we were kids...Dr. Zaius kicked ass..
